We have a successful massage practice specializing in Deep Tissue and Structural Bodywork in Santa Barbara. We are seeking a responsible, professional and licensed Deep Tissue Massage therapist who is interested in being part of a successful team!
Our focus is helping clients with relief from both acute and chronic pain, maintaining optimum health and structural balance, and athletic performance. We will invest in your personal and professional growth by providing you with a supportive and professional work environment, appointment bookings, and administrative support. Further education in Deep Tissue Massage and Orthopedic Massage is also available.
Openings are for part-time contractors to start, going to full-time as client load increases. Must be able to work some weekends.
Candidates should possess the following skill sets:
Massage Skills:
1. A strong working knowledge of anatomy and excellent palpation skills, the ability to identify tight tissue and potential trigger points.
2. At least 1 year of experience with Deep Tissue techniques (deep compression, stripping and sculpting), and the ability to do both general Deep Tissue as well as very specific work in a problem area.
3. The ability to work on common client issues, such as neck and low back pain, joint pains and range of motion restrictions.
Any additional skills such as Myofascial Release, Postural or Gait Assessment, on-table stretching modalities (PNF, MET, CRAC etc.) is a plus!
Interpersonal Skills:
1. High quality customer service and communication skills.
2. The ability to work cooperatively with others.
3. Personal integrity and a good work ethic.
4. An understanding of client's needs and concerns.
5. Confidence in speaking with the public about our practice and their own personal abilities as a massage therapist
Additional Qualifications:
1. Graduate of a recognized massage therapy school.
2. Possess a valid California State massage therapy license and a City of Santa Barbara business license.
3. Proof of liability massage insurance.
