Santa Barbara Neighborhood Clinics is a non-profit organization that treats mostly under-served and uninsured patients at our four medical clinics and dental clinic. We currently have an opening for a Medical Assistants at our Goleta Clinic. Fluency in English and Spanish is required.
We are looking for enthusiastic people who can be effective in a fast-paced setting and provide outstanding customer service. This is a great opportunity to learn about the healthcare field from our dedicated medical practitioners.

Work Days/Hours: 40 hrs per week / 2 required Saturdays per month.

Isla Vista Neighborhood Clinic - 970 Embarcadero del Mar, Isla Vista, CA 93117
Eastside Neighborhood Clinic - 915 N Milpas St, Santa Barbara, CA 93103
Qualifications:
1. Fluency in English and Spanish is required.
2. Experience providing excellent customer service is highly desirable.
3. Experience in a medical setting is desirable but not required.
4. Completion of a Medical Assistant program is desirable but not required.
Examples of Duties and Responsibilities:
Registers and verifies patient registration and eligibility are correct
Coordinates patient care and flow
Prepares and completes all appropriate consent forms; answers patient questions; provides patient education materials
Answers incoming calls; routes calls; takes messages and make appointments
Assists with confirming patient appointments
Escorts patient to exam room; obtains brief history and vital signs; updates medical records for clinician's review
Assists clinicians with procedures
Assures exam rooms are cleaned and stocked before and after each patient
Ensures that prescription refills are completed in a timely manner
May assist in laboratory by preparing wet mounts
Compensation: Competitive wages and benefits.
Salary Range: $19 - $23.00
