Duties:
- Perform dental cleanings and oral examinations for patients
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide oral health instructions
- Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide as directed by the dentist
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including patient charts and treatment plans
- Follow strict infection control protocols to ensure a safe and clean environment
- Use aseptic techniques when handling instruments and equipment
- Monitor vital signs of patients during procedures
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy and confidentiality
- Document all procedures, treatments, and patient interactions accurately in medical records
Experience:
- Previous experience as a dental hygienist or dental assistant preferred
- Knowledge of dental assisting procedures, including taking x-rays and sterilizing instruments
- Familiarity with medical records management and documentation practices
- Understanding of infection control protocols and aseptic technique
- Ability to take accurate vital signs and maintain patient comfort during procedures
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to patient privacy
Note: Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus.
