Human Resources Generalist

The Human Resources Generalist will lead or assist in the execution of HR policies and programs, acting as a backup for recruitment, on-boarding, training, career development, employee relations, compensation and benefits planning per experience. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including EEO, FMLA, and FLSA, and supports line managers in implementing HR programs.

Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm

$80,000-$95,000/year + Benefits

Responsibilities:

Respond to employee and candidate inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefits.

Serve as recruiting backup when necessary (e.g., career fairs, PTO, etc.).

Interface as directed with new hires by sending required paperwork, following up to ensure timely completion, and verifying compliance with organizational policies.

Serve as a general point of contact for employees regarding complaints, grievances, conflict resolution, performance counseling, PIPs, investigations, and general employee meetings, escalating issues as necessary.

Participate in and help facilitate staff meetings.

Assist with benefits plan administration, including yearly open enrollment, and provide information about benefits as needed.

Assist with unemployment, disability, and VOE claims processing as needed.

Ensure compliance with labor regulations, including OSHA, at federal, state, and local levels.

Stay up to date on HR best practices to improve workplace efficiency.

Facilitate annual updates to the Employee Manual.

Compile and maintain paper, digital, and electronic employee records.

Organize, facilitate, and manage company events such as weekly lunches, monthly treat days, periodic Snack About It events, Customer Service Week, company picnics, contests, holiday parties, and employee showers with guidance from the department.

Manage and curate content for the monthly HR Bulletin.

Master payroll processes and prepare payroll for review and approval, serving as the payroll backup when needed (may possibly transition to the Finance Department).

Assist with system integrations (e.g., TriNet Census with LinkedIn Learning, Preparis, etc.) and/or evaluate HR technologies (Tech Stack).

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

3+ years of HR experience

Proficient in HRIS and Payroll systems

Knowledge of HR concepts, principles and best practices

PHR or SHRM-CP preferred
