Highline Adventures is now hiring a Protea Flower Gardener
Start Date: Immediately
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
Compensation: Starting pay $18 per hour, with potential increases based on performance
Overview:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Protea Flower Gardener to join our hardworking team. This role is ideal for someone who has a love for flowers, especially proteas, and enjoys working outdoors. As a Protea Flower Gardener, you will be playing a crucial role in maintaining the health and beauty of our protea fields spanning over 8 acres. This is a 1200 acre ranch, you will be working along side two other team members who primarily speak Spanish. The ideal candidate is reliable, hardworking, and works well with others.
Qualifications:
Ability to work full 8-hour days outdoors in various weather conditions.
Strong team player with good communication skills.
Proficiency in English and Spanish is necessary.
Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Previous experience in flower care or agriculture is required.
Comfortable working in conditions that require extended periods of standing, kneeling, bending, pulling, pushing, etc.
Willingness to adhere to a set break schedule.
Responsibilities:
Plant care: Tending to the proteas by monitoring their health, ensuring they are free of pests and diseases.
Weeding: Regularly clearing the fields of weeds to maintain a healthy growing environment.
Watering: Managing the irrigation needs of the plants, ensuring they receive the optimal amount of water.
Pruning: Trimming the plants to promote growth and maintain their shape.
Landscaping: Assisting in the upkeep and aesthetic enhancement of areas surrounding the protea fields.
Learning and Identification: Gaining knowledge about protea flowers to identify and address plant issues effectively.
Teamwork: Working under the direction of the Protea Manager and collaborating with other team members, both from the protea department and the broader ranch team.
