If you enjoy the great outdoors and all the lake has to offer come join our team at Cachuma Lake is Santa Barbara. Our California Lakes are noted for excellent fishing and boating. We have a boat mechanic position available. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a talented and dynamic team. $25 per hour, based on skills and experience.
This position includes, diagnosing and determining proper parts and labor efforts. This includes on site and travel between lakes. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of marine systems and a basic knowledge of boats.
Requirements:
Determines engine, drives, and controls condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests.
Completes overhauls as well as other repairs and services identified during the diagnostic process.
Maintains engine and vessel records with accurate documentation of service and repairs.
Maintains a clean, safe and organized work environment.
Accept ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; explores value add opportunities.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
What we need from you:
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to visually diagnose mechanical issues.
Must work well independently as well as part of a team.
Ability to read service and repair manuals, and operating instructions.
Ability to perform repairs in a timely fashion.
Basic understanding of boat engines and electronic controls.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with proven ability to clearly communicate with technical support.
Experience/Education Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
2+ years experience working with in board out board products (Tohatsu motors).
Technical schooling a plus.
Experience operating a boat.
Experience with integrating cockpit electronics with propulsion system is a plus.
California state boater’s card is a plus.
Other Requirements:
Valid, unrestricted driver's license and must be insurable.
Tohatsu certification.
Own a set of mechanics tools.
