We are currently hiring (2) new team members for the following positions:
Landscape Construction Apprentice
Pay range for this position starts at $20-25/hr. depending on experience. The ideal candidate already works locally in landscape construction, should be familiar with basic landscape installation activities (planting, drip irrigation, etc.), comfortable using hand tools (shovels, rakes, etc.), small power tools (jack hammers, drills, etc.), and be committed to learning the landscape construction trade.
Hardscape Installation Specialist
Pay range for this position starts at $25-35/hr. depending on experience. The ideal candidate already works locally in landscape construction, and has experience building stairs, walls, walkways and patios out of gravel, stone, block, mortar, stucco, concrete, etc. Preference will be given to applicants with experience operating excavators, track loaders, etc.
All applicants should be willing and able to learn and participate in complex landscape construction activities, including the installation of stone walls, flagstone, pavers, water features, landscape lighting, trees/plants, irrigation systems, etc. We are also willing to consider applicants with minimal landscape construction experience if your previous work/life experience makes you a good candidate. Please be good with your hands and have an eye for detail. On the job training is provided by me, the company owner.
To be considered for the position, all applicants should meet the following requirements:
1. Be over 18 years old, and have permission to work legally in the United States.
2. Have a cell phone, a vehicle, and live in the Santa Barbara,CA area.
3. Arrive on time for work Monday-Thursday, 8/hrs. per day, 32 hr. per week, from 8am - 4:30pm.
(If you are able to complete tasks independently, Friday hours are also available.)
4. Be able to lift/carry up to 65lbs, and operate a variety of electric and gas powered construction tools.
5. Be able to follow instructions in English (bilingual w/ Spanish is a plus), and have a strong desire to learn new skills.
We offer the opportunity to learn new skills while building high quality landscapes in the Santa Barbara area. As part of your compensation, we offer paid breaks, paid time off, paid holidays, paid sick leave, and a $150 stipend to buy new steel toe boots.You will be working in a small team directly with me, the company owner, on projects similar to the work shown above.
