Tierra Data, Inc. is looking for self motivated and dependable Landscape Habitat Restoration Laborers with positive attitudes to be part of our growing Habitat Restoration Team in the Lompoc area. Positions are available at the Entry Level and Experienced Level (minimum two years’ experience). Recruits are responsible for working as a team member under direct supervision of a Crew Leader or Foreman. Variety of work available, but can include: vegetation management, weed removal, installing and maintaining plants, and installing and repairing irrigation systems.
ENTRY-LEVEL LABORER DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
May include but not limited to:
Operate a variety of hand tools
Weed removal: mechanical treatment, line trimming, hand weeding
Planting of trees and shrubs (including seeds and container stock)
Hand digging and soil leveling/raking
Assisting in installation of irrigation and fencing
Assisting in installation of fiber roll and silt fence
Project site trash collection
ENTRY-LEVEL LABORER JOB REQUIREMENTS
Work closely with supervisor in installation of construction and landscape construction projects
Follow all safety procedures on the project site
Work as part of a team and take direction
Perform highly physical work on a daily basis
Demonstrated ability to work a varied schedule up to full time (Monday-Friday)
Transportation to work sites and ability to show upon time (as early as 6:00am)
Adequate clothing to meet minimum safety requirements, including steel-toed work boots, long sleeved shirts and a hat
Positive attitude to take instruction on the job
Ability to work effectively with individuals of differing backgrounds, knowledge and skill levels
EXPERIENCED LABORER DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

EXPERIENCED LABORER JOB REQUIREMENTS
All Requirements for Entry Level Laborer
Basic plant identification of common weeds and native species
Minimum two years’ experience as labor staff in the Landscape trade
Demonstrated and documented experience using backpack sprayers for weed control
Demonstrated and documented experience using a line trimmer to cut weeds
Experience in the use of motorized equipment and hand tools
Experience/familiarity with irrigation repair and trouble-shooting
Position requires prolonged moving, walking, stooping and kneeling. Ability to push, pull, carry and lift over 50 pounds multiple times per day. Work outdoors in all types of weather conditions and exposure to elements 8 to 10 hours per day. Frequently walking on rough and uneven terrain. May include heavy to moderate noise, close proximity to moving equipment or machinery. Exposure to materials, tools, herbicides and equipment used in construction and landscaping.

Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred, but not required
GPS use and other hand-held devices (e.g., phone, camera, tablet).

Final agreed upon compensation will be based on a variety of factors including but not limited to an individual’s related experience, education, certifications, skills, and work location.
