A Beautiful Family Owned Agriculture Nursery in Carpinteria is hiring now for a Product Manager. This is a Permanent Position with Medical Benefits!!! Must be Bilingual (English/Spanish) This manager will be in charge of overseeing the plants/products and successful team management. This position required physical general labor working with your team and also administrative responsibilities. You must be self-motivated, trustworthy and have a positive "team oriented" management style. This positions required a Monday-Friday scheduled of 10 hours each day (7am -5:30pm), and Saturdays from 7am to 11am. This is a salaried position offering $60k-$65k depending on experience. Benefits include Medical Insurance, Life Insurance, Vacation pay, Sick pay and Holiday pay. Job SummaryDevelop/Use knowledge of curing all plant material to deliver plant material in optimal state to the processing and bagging department. Once a tote has dried whole plants or dried product material inside it, it falls under the care of the Product Manager. This person must cure and care for the product, ensuring it is in a ‘safe state’ always. This person must work to develop the product in the bins so that it is in a ready state to be Munched or Machine Trimmed 5-6 days a week. Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesManage a team of 5-8 peopleEnsure dried product is in correct environment alwaysManage the temperature and humidity of all dry roomsTouch product, smell product, visually inspect product, measure humidity with humidity meter and make decisions based off knowledge gathered from this processKnow what the outside humidity/temperature and forecasted humidity/temperature are, use this information when making decisionsKeep product in a ‘safe state’ - using dehumidifiers and curing methods taught on-site, ensure every day that product is in its best possible condition to cure wellWork cooperatively and communicate actively with Processing Supervisor & Finished Product QABe a part of the team moving and inspecting bins Manage and work with Bin Data Integrity employeeRequirementsBasic Computer SkillsBi-Lingual preferred Ability to lift up to 35 poundsWillingness to work in an environment that has organic plant material that will get onto clothing or work attire ConditionsCool temperatures, hot temperatures, dry air, humid air, noise from fans, dehumidifiers and carbon filters Protective PPE required (face-mask, safety glasses, hair-net, lab coat)
