We are a boutique Design-Build construction company seeking an experienced interior designer to work directly with clients under the Kellow Construction brand. This role focuses on creative design while collaborating closely with our team of builders, who manage budgets, construction methods, and timelines. This is a work from home position part time 1099 position. The designer must be able to be present on site as needed. Our projects are exclusively based in the Santa Barbara area.

Compensation: DOE (please include your desired hourly rate in your cover letter).
Employment Type: Part-time (1099 contractor).
Software: Negotiable - access to our AutoCAD subscription is available.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop accurate & rapid, client-approved, to-scale drawings using CAD, or Revit.
Design spaces under the Kellow brand, ensuring alignment with client needs and construction requirements.
Focus on creative tasks like FF&E (furniture, fixtures, and equipment) selections
Work closely with builders to ensure designs fit budgets, timelines, and construction methods.
Prepare detailed fixture lists, specifications, and materials for project kickoff.
Guide clients through the design process, keeping projects on budget.
Create design boards, renderings, and presentations to communicate concepts.
Support pre-construction planning, including feasibility evaluations and site assessments.
Maintain design documentation, address RFIs, and provide solutions during construction.
Management of receiving and on site organization of products.
Qualifications
At least 2 years of professional design experience in a design-build or similar setting.
Proficiency in CAD or Revit for drafting and rendering.
Experience with fixture lists, spec books, and design documentation.
Strong organization and time management skills.
Excellent communication for client and team interactions.
Local availability for on-site visits as needed.
A collaborative mindset to work within a design-build structure.
