The Position

The CalAIM Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing FSA’s CalAIM services. Duties include working with FSA’s Program Managers/Directors and other staff, as well as contractual partners CenCal Health, the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS), and Vertical Change for successful project implementation; overseeing project quality controls; overseeing project budget and associated capacity building grants; ensuring contractual targets are met; leadership of Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) efforts; and completion of qualitative and quantitative reports reflecting accomplishments and services rendered. This position reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The position is hybrid of in person and some remote.

CalAIM (California Advancing and Innovating Medi-Cal) is the State of California's Medi-Cal transformation initiative, which seeks to move Medi-Cal towards a population health approach that prioritizes prevention and whole person care. The goal of CalAIM is to provide Medi-Cal enrollees coordinated and equitable access to services that address their physical, behavioral, developmental, and long­term care needs.

Sample Job Duties and Responsibilities

1. Program Development, Compliance, and Evaluation

a. Oversee FSA’s CalAIM service project, including developing a detailed project plan.

b. Develop and/or consult with department representatives on process workflows for each CalAIM service. Understand and support programs with the details of CalAIM service implementation, support data staff in tracking CalAIM services, and support billing staff with CalAIM billing.

c. Ensure contractual expectations and targets are met and that services provided are within scope of practice, including the subcontract with Vertical Change for database integration.

2. Community Partnerships

a. Participate in the Central Coast CHW/Ps Capacity Building Collaborative, and continue partnership development.

b. Participate and initiate, when needed, inter-disciplinary team meetings to promote continuity of care for shared clients both inter-agency and intra-agency.

c. Network and collaborate with community partners to cultivate relationships to increase FSA’s visibility and position in the community.

3. Management Team Member

a. Participate in Program Management Team meetings to ensure alignment in program operations and strategic program development.

b. Participate in the ongoing development, evaluation, and implementation of operational and strategic plans.

c. Cultivate a climate that invites and motivates employees from diverse backgrounds, providing the platform and support to grow and lead at FSA.

Employment Requirements:

1. Bachelors degree required.

2. Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

3. Experience in program management, budget operations and oversight, data tracking and analysis, preferred.

4. Familiarity with CalAIM preferred.

5. Computer and Internet literacy and excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

6. Proficient in Microsoft Office; can adapt to using various types of software.

7. Valid automobile insurance, a valid California Driver License, and reliable transportation are necessary to travel throughout Santa Barbara County.

Classification, Hours and Pay Rate:

This position is full-time, salaried/exempt. Benefits include: medical (Choice of HMO and PPO offered), dental, vision, life insurance, flexible spending accounts, and a 403(b) retirement plan with an annual company contribution. Generous vacation, holiday, and sick leave also offered.

The pay range for this position is $83,200-$85,280.
