The Community Engagement Associate is responsible for supporting the nonprofit’s mission by engaging with communities, building relationships, and driving participation in the organization’s programs and initiatives. The role involves a combination of fieldwork, community engagement, event tabling, and communications, aimed at increasing the organization’s visibility and impact. The Community Engagement Associate reports directly to the Executive Director, and works with the Associate Director and Office Manager.
Responsibilities and duties may include but are not limited to the following:
-Create outreach content, such as newsletters, social media posts, and press releases.
-Conduct community outreach activities, including tabling at Farmers Market, local events, and other relevant gatherings.
-Assist in the development of outreach campaigns and strategies.
-Track outreach activities and prepare regular reports on community engagement efforts and outcomes.
-Provide feedback and recommendations for improving outreach strategies.
-Provide support and guidance to the Management Team to ensure successful engagement with the community.
-Remain current and educated on all platforms, emerging platforms, changes to platforms and advances in technology and algorithmic developments
-Complete other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
-3-5+ years of hands-on experience managing social media channels.
-Experienced in making, editing, and producing content for social media.
-Strong understanding of social media platforms with a strategic & editorial mindset.
-Experience interpreting data and utilizing social media analytics tools.
-Intermediate graphic design experience.
-Excellent communication & project management skills with a positive, solution-oriented mindset
-Passionate about the social media landscape and building authentic social communities.
-Bachelor’s degree; Marketing, PR, Communication, or related field.
