Looking to spread some extra love and joy this holiday season? Ace of Hearts Dog Rescue is seeking passionate fosters to provide temporary or long-term homes for our rescue dogs. By fostering, you’ll not only save a dog from a high-kill shelter but also be part of their journey toward finding a forever family.
Fostering is an incredibly rewarding experience, and we’ll provide all the supplies, food, and medical care your foster dog needs. Plus, we offer a stipend to cover gas for medical appointments and adoption events. Whether you’re in it for the long haul or just have a couple of weeks to spare this holiday season, we’d love to have you join our team!
What You Need to Know Before Signing Up:
Please read thoroughly to ensure fostering is the right fit for you:
- Must be 21 years or older.
- No children under the age of 8 in the home.
- No small dogs or cats in the home (larger dogs are okay).
- Comfortable with larger dogs (50-90 lbs on average).
- Must be okay fostering shelter dogs with unknown backgrounds.
- Adoption events are mandatory: Attend every other Saturday at the Petco in West Hollywood (this is also when supplies are provided).
- Approval from all roommates, family members, landlords, etc., is required before fostering.

Every day, countless dogs face euthanasia simply because shelters are overcrowded. By fostering, you give these dogs a safe and loving environment to decompress and heal. While some may come with quirks—like needing potty training or extra patience—you’ll see firsthand how love and care can transform a scared shelter dog into a happy, confident companion.

Delta
- This 10-month-old puggle is full of energy and love!
- She’s great with dogs, cats, and people—basically, everyone she meets!
- Delta is playful and active, always up for a game of fetch or a run in the yard.
- She needs structure to help her settle into a routine and supervision at the door—this little adventurer loves to dash out for an unsupervised romp.
- Delta is looking for a long-term foster who can help her stay safe and continue to grow into an amazing family pet.
Axel
- Meet Axel, a 4-year-old Labrador/Aussie Shepherd mix with endless energy and a big heart.
- At 100 lbs, he’s a strong and active boy who loves hiking, running, and playing with other dogs.
- Axel thrives in quiet, adult-only homes where his people can give him plenty of attention and guidance.
- While he’s great with dogs of all sizes, busy streets and loud environments can make him uneasy. He’s working on his confidence, and a foster who understands his needs will help him shine.
- Axel is house-trained and healthy, and he’s ready for a foster who can keep up with his zest for life!
Ruby & Lucy
- This bonded pair of Shar Pei/Lab mixes are sweet, snuggly, and perfectly behaved at home.
- They adore each other and need to stay together, but they don’t get along with other dogs, so a pet-free home is a must.
- On walks, they can be reactive to other dogs, so their foster will need to manage outings carefully.
- These two are protective of their home and will need slow introductions to new visitors. But once they trust you, their love is boundless!
- Ruby & Lucy need a temporary foster from 12/20 - 12/28 while their long-term foster is away.
