Harry's House is an independent senior living community offering residents assistance with services including meals, transportation, housekeeping, and resident advocacy. The Resident Services Director position is to build relationships with residents to better understand their aspirations and goals and connect them with local resources and opportunities. We are looking for an individual who is friendly, organized, and values the sense of community. The Resident Service Director assists residents in living independently through collaboration and coordination of programs with wellness nurse/health care agency to addresses common health concerns such as, fall prevention, nutrition, grief and loss, medication management, dealing with incontinence, healthy weight loss, brain health/improving cognitive functions and general social-emotional wellbeing. Create partnerships with local organizations to successfully implement community engagement initiatives including implementation of required contracts.
A typical day would be creating consistent outreach and communication with residents including completing new resident assessments, newsletters, flyers, monthly calendars, telephone calls and door knocking. Ensures that group activities are scheduled at times that will provide for maximum involvement by interested residents. Knowledgeable, able to provide in-services related to activity programs, effectively manages the Activity Department budget monthly, supervises volunteers in the Activity Department, and other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Experience working with older adults, and issues relating to isolation, health and wellness and other social determinants of health.
Ability to understand and respect values, attitudes, and beliefs that differ across cultures and to respond appropriately to these differences with residents in planning, implementing, and evaluating programs and services.
Capable of building and maintaining positive relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders, including but not limited to, residents, senior staff, volunteers, interns, and community partners.
Trustworthiness, honesty and respect for team members, residents and management are requirements in this position, confidentiality of information pertaining to the resident's care must be consistently maintained.
This position works cooperatively with other departments to promote residents’ well-being, and to demonstrate concern for and commitment to, safety, physical and emotional health of the residents and staff.
