Summary of Job Details
The Lead Teacher is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating developmentally appropriate curriculum for children in the Early Childhood Care and Education Services (ECCES) as prescribed by the National Association of the Education of Young Children. Sets up the physical (indoor and outdoor) environment to meet changing needs, maintains a safe, clean, and pleasant environment, models and instructs other adults in best practice, and provides information to parents regarding their children as well as general child development information. Also responsible for assuring compliance with codes of all State and local governing contracting agencies; and works cooperatively and collegially with other staff members of the Early Childhood Care and Education Services Department.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma
Minimum required ECE units to qualify for Master Teacher permit working towards Site Supervisor permit through the California Commission on Teaching Credentialing.
Minimum of two years teaching experience in the Early Childhood Education field
Special Conditions of Employment
Satisfactory criminal history background check
Mandated Child Abuse Reporter
Campus Security Authority
Acceptable health screening to include negative TB results (valid within 1 year of date of hire), proof of required immunizations
Must possess valid Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification prior to start date
Completion of required CA Mandated Reporting in accordance with Title 22
