ABC-CLIO, an award-winning educational publisher of reference, general interest, and professional development books, is looking for an Editorial Assistant in the books editorial department.
The Editorial Assistant provides administrative, technical, contract, and editorial support, tracks contracts between the company and our writers, and ensures the prompt payment of compensation. In general, the Editorial Assistant serves as the main point person for the department for communicating with outside authors/contributors. In addition, the Editorial Assistant will take on increasing complex and challenging editorial development duties.
We offer a flexible schedule and are seeking applicants with the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in the Humanities or related areas.
Passion for and commitment to the art of writing and editing
Strong proofreading, writing, and editing skills; attention to detail
Ability to be self-directed and sustain objective/measurable results
Data entry, MS Excel, and Powerpoint skills
Administrative office experience, excellent customer service abilities
Robust communication, time/project management, and organizational skills
This is a regular, full-time position. NOTE: Position will be remote until employees are brought back into the office later this year.
