Summary of Job Details
The University of California Education Abroad Program (UCEAP) is a UC systemwide program, serving all UC campuses, and currently provides an extensive portfolio of study abroad programs in over 40 countries at over 120 universities and institutions. In-country support is provided through a variety of structures including a network of nine UCEAP managed UC registered entities, branches, and tax-registered locations as well as approximately five employment partnerships and third parties engaging more than 30 local nationals in approximately 15 countries. This complex organizational structure requires human resources compliance with UC policies, US state and federal regulations, and global laws and regulations. Reporting to UCEAP's Human Resources Director and working closely with the Associate Director, Global Human Resources, the Human Resources Generalist completes various administrative duties, conducts research and analysis of moderate scope, and provides transactional and recordkeeping support for the UCEAP domestic and global Human Resources unit.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related area and three or more years of relevant, professional experience, or equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience.
Analytical and problem assessment skills to proactively identify issues, conduct analyses and/or troubleshoot issues, develop recommendations, and implement resolution as assigned.
Sound judgment and ability to interpret and escalate issues regarding policies and regulations.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to establish effective workload priorities and meet deadlines.
Ability to analyze problems, gather information, and synthesize data of varying types and complexity with strong attention to detail.
Familiarity with human resources concepts and practices.
Demonstrated proficiency with common computer programs such as MS Office Suite including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook (mail and calendaring) and Excel, Adobe for document creation, management, and reporting; ability to navigate SharePoint for file sharing and organization.
Ability to work across multiple data systems simultaneously to gather and synthesize data on reports and documents.
Ability to timely attain mastery of the technology necessary and required for assigned duties of the position.
Strong organizational skills to create and maintain reports and records with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency.
Sound judgment and proficiency in ability to use discretion, maintain data privacy, and maintain all security and confidentiality with sensitive and personally identifiable information (PII).
Judgment and ability to prioritize multiple projects, seeking guidance, as necessary.
Excellent time management and independent task tracking, monitoring, and completion skills.
Proficient in meeting timelines and deadlines for a variety of ongoing tasks and projects.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work efficiently and productively as an individual contributor, and collaboratively as a team member in the unit.
Demonstrated meticulous attention to detail to achieve and maintain an advanced level of accuracy in data management and work products.
Special Conditions of Employment
The UCEAP Systemwide Office is located in Goleta, CA (near the UCSB campus). Type of work arrangement eligibility: Hybrid. On-site presence will be required for leadership and staff meetings, delegation visits, training sessions, etc. The University is unable to pay or reimburse expenses prohibited by University policy, including travel expenses associated with commuting to the designated office.

Days/Hours: Schedule to be arranged within UCEAP's core business hours. Additional hours occasionally may be requested for special projects and high-volume cycles.
