Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Sewer to join our growing team. This hands-on position requires precision sewing skills and a strong understanding of custom fabrication, particularly in window treatments and upholstery (such as drapes, Roman shades, valances, pillows, cushions) and awnings (canvas, vinyl, or Sunbrella-type fabrics). The ideal candidate will take pride in their work and thrive in a fast-paced, quality-focused production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Accurately sew custom window treatments, including panels, shades, valances / cornices, and pillows / cushions
Fabricate and assemble fabric components for outdoor awnings and canopies
Measure, cut, hem, and finish materials with precision and consistency
Read and interpret work orders, schematics, and fabric specifications
Collaborate with the design and installation teams to ensure finished products meet project standards
Perform maintenance on sewing machines and tools as needed
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Qualifications:
3+ years of professional sewing experience, preferably in home furnishings or awning fabrication
Strong knowledge of industrial sewing machines and various stitching techniques
Familiarity with outdoor-grade materials (Sunbrella, vinyls, mesh) and interior fabrics
Ability to read measurements and follow technical instructions accurately
Excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Positive attitude and strong work ethic
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with sergers, walking foot machines, or automated cutters
Background in upholstery or marine/outdoor fabric work
Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus
