The Santa Barbara Nissan service team is searching for technicians: An entry-level lube technician and an experienced ASE certified automotive technician. Whether you have dealership and/or independent repair facility experience we would like to talk with you. We need you to be available to work on all makes and models, with experience for Japanese engineered vehicles a major plus. Job Duties / Description:
The experienced/ASE certified auto technician needs to be able to diagnose and repair all systems of the vehicle - performance/emissions, brakes, suspension/steering, HVAC, electrical, etc.
The entry-level lube technician needs to have a valid driver's license, initiative, be a self-starter, be able to take instruction and apply it quickly & efficiently.
Abide by California Bureau of Automotive Repair service and repair standards.
Be able to adequately explain and document the diagnostics and needed repair processes to non-mechanical minded individuals (fellow employees and customers). This will assist to effectively manage the service process and customer communication.
Know the importance of the multi-point inspection and have the ability to communicate the multi-point inspection results and make appropriate/necessary recommendations to ensure the safety and reliability of the customer's vehicle.
Documenting (in detail) all work performed on each vehicle on the repair order
Keeping up to date with all factory technical service bulletins and campaigns, and completing all necessary manufacturer training and all necessary safety training.
Keep a clean and orderly work area (service bay), being sure area is safe.
Be willing to assist other technicians / mechanics with technical activities (team player).
Take ownership of the customer's experience by handling those additional assignments that allows you to leave a positive impression with the customer.
Adhere to all company policy, procedure, safety, and environmental rules.

We Require:
Minimum of 5 years work experience at a dealership and/or independent repair facility, and minimum of 3 ASE certifications
Integrity, dependability, and commitment
Excellent work ethic / a strong desire to succeed and excel
Basic computer skills - ability to navigate various websites and software programs
Valid California driver's license with a clean driving record
Background check / drug screen
Organizational skills and ability to multi-task
Nissan vehicle experience helpful
DealerTrack DMS experience very helpful
