Help shape the future of the Internet

As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll help maintain and extend the product solutions provided by Akamai. By collaborating with teams across the business, you'll become an expert on our globally distributed architecture. You'll also help ensure our customers manage their web traffic in a more reliable and secure way.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Monitoring network stability and developing improvements to the HTTP proxy
• Acting as an escalation point for operational, network and managerial teams to ensure network/customer issues are resolved
• Implementing innovative tools to improve monitoring, alerting and emergency response procedures and maneuvers
• Working closely with other Engineers to solve platform problems and make code fixes

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have 8 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, another related field or its equivalent
• Have working knowledge with Linux or UNIX operating systems
• Have good experience in C/C development
• Be knowledgeable in internet technologies such as HTTP(2), TCP/IP and DNS
• Demonstrate good knowledge of SQL and scripting languages such as Python or Perl
• Be a good communicator, from creating written documentation to succinctly conveying your thoughts and ideas verbally
• Demonstrate the ability to multitask in a fast-paced, collaborative, Agile environment
