Accounting Clerk

Robert Half is seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join a company based in Santa Maria as an Accounting Clerk. The ideal candidate will be proficient in data entry, have experience in managing packing slips, and possess excellent communication skills for handling phone calls. This will be a temporary / contract to hire position that can begin immediately.

Responsibilities:

- Perform accurate and timely data entry of financial transactions into the accounting system.

- Retrieve packing slips and input relevant information into the accounting database.

- Maintain organized records of packing slips and invoices for reference and auditing purposes.

- Answer incoming phone calls and address inquiries or redirect them to the appropriate department.

- Assist with administrative tasks as needed to support the accounting department.

Requirements:

- Proven experience in data entry and accounting-related tasks.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.

- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize workload.

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.

- Effective communication skills for interacting with colleagues and external contacts.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices is a plus.
