Excel Personnel Services is currently recruiting for a Bookkeeper in Los Olivos. This position is Full Time and temp to hire, with the hours from 8:30 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday. The pay rate for this position is $20-22/hr (DOE). If you are qualified and interested in this position, please apply ASAP!
Job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Process Accounts Payable/Receivable
Set-up vendor accounts
Review, confirm, and process income journals and daily reports
Ensure that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner
Ensure that proper approval has been documented
Enter documentation into the accounting system
Ensure that all reasonable discounts are taken on accounts payable when/if available
Ensure that accounts receivable are collected promptly
Update related party and family accounts receivable schedules monthly
Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
Maintain controls over accounting transactions and make suggestions on way to improve
Review daily reports and ensure their accuracy
Address mistakes made at the property/front desk level with appropriate staff including training as necessary
Under direction of the Controller, coordinate the provision of information to external accountants for tax, audit, review or other needs as they arise
Ensure invoices are input timely and accurately so they can be paid timely
Ensure use taxes are accrued and discounts are taken on invoices
Prepare analyses and perform research as necessary or assigned
Other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications:
Associates degree in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or other similar areas or equivalent business experience and 7+ years of progressively responsible experience for an established company
Knowledge of Opera, GoConcierge, and MS Office preferred
Ability to properly communicate through both oral and written correspondence
Ability to demonstrate professionalism at all times
Ability to multi-task, properly prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
Strong attention to detail
