We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a part-time (30 hour/wk) Billing Clerk in Santa Maria, California. This role requires a high level of organization and attention to detail. You will be responsible for various customer service and clerical tasks, including processing applications for utility and other services, maintaining financial records, and handling customer inquiries.
Responsibilities:
Efficiently process customer credit applications to facilitate seamless service delivery.
Ensure the accuracy of customer credit records through regular updates and reviews.
Handle customer inquiries promptly and professionally, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
Monitor customer accounts regularly and take necessary actions based on account status.
Uphold the values of the organization by maintaining a strong customer service orientation.
Balance and post payments as part of the daily financial operations.
Carry out clerical duties such as data entry to support the smooth running of the department.
Maintain various permit records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Prepare daily inspection reports to track the operational activities of the department.
Perform other related projects and duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
Requirements:
Previous experience handling high volume of cash.
Exhibit excellent customer service skills.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Proficient in the use of relevant computer software, including Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Prior experience in a billing or accounting role preferred.
