JOB TITLE: Tractor Restoration Educational Program Coordinator

SERVICE AREA: San Luis Obispo County and Santa Barbara County

STATUS: Part Time

DEPARTMENT: Tractor Restoration Education Program (TREP)

LOCATION: San Luis Obispo

HOURS: Hours will be variable throughout the year. Weekends and after-hours work will be required with increased hours during March to September. Hours will vary between 15 to 40 per week. Estimated hours per month, January (20 hours), February (20 hours), March (25 hours), April (25 hours), May (30 hours), June (30 hours), July (40 hours), August (40 hours), September (40 hours), October (25 hours), November (25 hours), December (15 hours).

COMPENSATION: 24.00 to $29.00 per hour with some overtime

JOB SUMMARY:

This part time position will provide administrative support, coordinating and scheduling of activities for the JB Dewar Tractor Restoration Educational Program (TREP). This key role will provide services to support various groups within the organization. Coordinating activities and events with youth, high school aged contestants, donors, Media, vendors, maintenance/facilities, marketing, and the Community.

Connect with individuals in the Community to assist the contestants with various aspects of the contest.

Connect mentors with contestants.

Provide contestants with opportunities to find the parts, tools, and supplies that they need to restore their tractors.

Work with tractor dealers, equipment companies, parts supply dealers on resources and supplies they can provide to the program.

Support in identifying and coordinating fundraisers, monies, donations of supplies, sale of tractors, tractor parts, equipment not usable for the program to support the program and the contestants.

Plan and facilitate a competition day and manage students throughout display at CA Mid State Fair.

Plan and lead fundraising, through donations, selling of tractors and tractor parts.

Establish a budget and follow a thorough marketing plan to bring awareness to the program and company as a whole and provide measurable return on the investment of this non-profit to the company.

Follow provided guidelines to help in determining viable tractor and/or part donations and the sale of tractors and used equipment.

Scheduling with the outside vendors, maintenance/facilities, or others to pick up and deliver tractors, both donated tractors and restored tractors.

Schedule and coordinate activities, such as parades, tractor display requests, meetings, contestant visits and more.

Research, coordinate the purchase of awards and contestant participation items.

Ensure Non-profit compliance and reporting.

Liaison with media, (radio, television, print) Service Clubs, Schools in San Luis Obispo, and Santa Barbara Counties

Maintaining and balancing finances from fundraising to ensure coverage of anticipated expenses.

Create various types of marketing support materials and media for all forms of print, computer, social.

SKILLS: (required):

Ability to multi-task.

Familiarity with 4-H and FFA programs.

Mechanical.

Ability to make financial decisions.

Strong organizational and planning skills.

Ability to work independently with excellent time management skills.

Friendly, outgoing personality.

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Possess a cheerful outlook with a growth mindset.

Software includes Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, and Customer Relationship Management tools.

Ability to type at least 30 wpm.

Hardware including Laptop computer, smart phone.

Must possess a valid California Driver’s License with a clean driving record.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS:

Frequent standing, sitting, bending, lifting (up to 35 pounds), kneeling, twisting, reaching, climbing ladders (up to six feet with no platform – up to nine feet with platform).
