BrightStar Care of Santa Barbara County, a company that believes in serving with passion and doing the right thing is currently looking for an experienced Registered Nurse experienced with infusion therapy, in the Santa Maria, Lompoc and Santa Ynez Valley areas.
The Registered Nurse in this role will be responsible for providing home health clinical services including infusion therapy, private duty nursing, back-office work, reassessments and supervisory visits for home care. This role requires a commitment of 20hrs per week.
Successful candidate will be required to attend orientation and required trainings at our Santa Barbara office
Duties:
Administering medications and fluids to patients through intravenous or injection methods
Monitoring patients for adverse reactions to medications or treatments
Educating patients and their families on the proper use of medications and equipment
Maintaining accurate patient records and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements
Ensuring infection control protocols are followed at all times
Assisting patients with Durable Medical Equipment (DME) as needed
Assessment/reassessment of new and current home care clients in support of creation or revision of plan of care
Supervisory visits to ensure standard of care
Other duties and assignments within registered nurse scope of practice

Experience:
Active RN license in good standing with the California Board of Nursing
Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse, preferably in an infusion setting
Experience with administering intravenous medications and fluids using a variety of pumps and techniques
Highly skilled at IV starts
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
Peripheral IV starts/maintenance & IV Infusion Therapy Injection
Port and picc line access and maintenance
