Job Title: Assistant Area Grower
Department: Growing
Reports To: Area Grower, Area Supervisor, Grower Manager
FLSA Status : Non-exemp

Summary: : The Assistant Area Grower is responsible for the daily growing of all crops in the assigned area by following crop SOP’s and instructions from the Area Grower. All tasks will be performed while supporting the policies, goals, and objectives of the company. The Assistant Area Grower is also expected to report any issues with crops or equipment to the Area Grower immediately. The Grower Manager may assign other duties to be completed by the Assistant Area Grower. The Assistant Area Grower works under the supervision of the Area Supervisor and the Area Grower.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Operation of irrigation booms/hoses and greenhouse equipment
Tractor, forklift, spray tank and fertilizer injector operations
Fertilizer mixing and application
Wear appropriate PPE according to Standard Operating Procedures and job requirements
Pesticide mixing and application while wearing label required PPE
Installation of bird netting
Weed control- inside greenhouses and outside growing areas
Installing sticky tape
General cleanup of assigned area, rake areas, pick up trash, and dump old crops
Rotate crop edge trays
Inspect equipment and fill out daily equipment inspection form prior to operation
Perform various other duties as required which may include assisting other departments
Qualifications:
18 years of age or older
Provide ID and SSN
Bilingual preferred but not required
Positive attitude
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to operate equipment and machinery safely
Able to walk and stand for long periods of time
Able to follow directions
Education and/or Experience:
Basic reading, writing and math skills
No experience necessary
