ABOUT US: We are a local mid-sized concrete paving company looking for a Seasoned Concrete Supervisor for a full-time position based out of Santa Maria, California. We have been in business for over 25 years and specialize in commercial and residential grading, new concrete paving, repair, and maintenance.
Applicant must have concrete paving experience (grading, form builds, pouring, screeding, curing, form removal, etc.), a positive attitude and be able to work well with others. Our jobs are in San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Ventura.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervises assigned project work and labor personnel to meet daily schedule
Ensure a safe working environment
Reviews and understands the project specifications to support job set up activities
Coordinates with internal team to ensure that project work is equipped with appropriate equipment and material quantities to complete production within assigned schedule
Forecasts the work schedule to identify possible issues
Supports and promotes strict adherence to safety and process controls regarding operating equipment, worksite safety and documentation requirements. Responsibility includes recommending training needs identified on jobsite
Supervises sub-contractor production and workforce regarding assigned project work. Recommends work schedule or work method adjustments regarding sub-contractor activities, as needed
Coordinates project close out activities in line with Company standards and Owner checklist requirements
Perform additional assignments per management’s direction
Exercise proper care of company equipment
Maintain a positive attitude, reliable attendance and meet company standards
Lead by example by delivering a 5-star customer experience, each and every time
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, the right candidate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily while meeting the requirements below:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Previous Concrete Paving Supervisor experience is a must
Reading and writing in English and basic math required
A valid CA driver’s license
Be able to pass random drug testing
KNOWLEDGE/ SKILL:
Advanced knowledge of tool and equipment safety
Knowledge of construction methods and safety requirements on a project site
Leadership and communication skills
Strong sense of personal accountability and a proven track record of achieving desired results
Strong verbal and written communication skills
High attention to detail and accuracy for getting the job at hand done right the first time
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
Flexibility to operate and self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environment
