Under the direction of the Director of Grounds Maintenance, the VAFB Grounds Worker is responsible for a wide variety of unskilled and semi-skilled grounds maintenance work at areas throughout the assigned Military Base.

We are in need of a Grounds Worker who is able to:
Complete grounds maintenance requirements as specified in the base contract.
Perform routine cleaning, preventative maintenance and minor repair tasks on tools and equipment as required.
Safely operate hand tools and power tools commonly utilized in grounds maintenance operations.
Prune shrubs, hedges and vines including cleanup and debris removal.
Education & Experience:
No minimum education required
Knowledge of grounds maintenance tools i.e. backpack blower, hedge trimmer, line trimmer etc.
Must have communication skills, self-management skills, and reasoning ability.
Must be able to meet and maintain requirements to obtain entrance onto Vandenberg Air Force Base.
Must have a valid driver's license with an insurable record.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Must be willing and able to work up to 8 hours per shift.
Must be able to work in varying weather conditions, shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
