80 acre ranch in Arroyo Grande, about 10 minutes from the village, looking for a part time ranch hand. Work hours will vary, and will depend on your skills, but you must be able to work during Mon-Fri between 9am and 1.30pm. There may be occasional work on the weekends.
We prefer someone who has experience with some some of the work listed below.
Work/duties include:
Fencing (repairs and construction)
Cutting, splitting, and chipping wood (experience with operating a chain saw a plus)
Mowing
Construction
Plumbing and irrigation
Maintenance of building, pens, corrals etc.
Landscaping
Gardening
Mechanical repairs
Other misc. ranch work
We are looking for a person who:
Has reliable transportation, a valid drivers license, and a clean driving record
Can legally work in the US
Is physically fit and able to lift up to up to 115 pounds (hay bales and tree logs)
Is a non-smoker and will be able to pass a drug test
Has organizational skills and are able to keep the place tidy and organized at all times
Has experience working on a ranch with some or more of the duties listed below
Has a positive and can-do attitude and are able to follow instructions
Has a common sense approach to problem solving and are not afraid to ask questions
Pays attention to details
Is safety oriented
Is punctual
You will be working outside all day, and a lot of the work is physical labor, so you will get dirty, dusty, and hot, and there is poison oak on the property. Please take that into consideration before applying.
Starting pay $13-15 an hour depending on experience and performance. Payroll is processed twice a month and paid by check.
