North American Fire Hose Corporation is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer at its production facility in Santa Maria, CA. In order to be considered for this position, please e-mail your resume with salary expectations.
Qualifications: Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Must be able to work in a fast paced, multi-tasking manufacturing/warehouse environment. Strong attention to detail is critical.
Manages production machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
Develops manufacturing infrastructure to integrate or deploy new manufacturing processes.
Strong steel and aluminum fabrication skills with close attention to machining tolerances and details. Welding experience a plus
Hands-on knowledge of proper use of measurement devices such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, plug gauges, thread gauges, etc.
Interprets engineering sketches, specifications, or drawings.
Interprets electrical manuals, schematics, and P&ID (piping and instrumentation diagrams)
Works with design engineers to refine product designs, to correct design errors, to increase production, and to decrease costs.
Provides technical support to other employees regarding design, fabrication, testing, or technical documentation.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and sit or stand for extended periods of time.
Forklift driving experience preferred, but not required.
Project management experience preferred, but not required.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or equivalent.
Hands-on knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.
Machining (e.g., lathe, mill, etc.) and welding experience a plus.
Hands-on knowledge of proper use of measurement devices such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, plug gauges, thread gauges, etc.
Knowledge of mechanical design techniques, tools, and principles.
Computer Skills: MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
Design Software: CAD experience desired.
Must have PLC experience. Rockwell Allen Bradley preferred.
Other Skills: strong communicator (oral & written), problem solver, planner.
Programmable Logic Controller [PLC] and Human Machine Interface [HMI] programming and troubleshooting a plus
Familiar With:
Types of AC Motors, DC motors, solenoids, and pumps design and maintenance
Motor control devices such as: Variable Frequency Drives [VFD] and DC drives
Pneumatics such as, air regulators, switches, and motors
Natural gas ovens and burners
Plumbing and drainage maintenance and repair
Interpret basic electrical diagrams and schematics
Desired
Boiler maintenance
Experience testing, troubleshooting, replacement, or maintaining 480V devices safety
Facility maintenance experience
Programmable Logic Controller [PLC] and Human Machine Interface [HMI] programming and troubleshooting a plus
