Metal Finishing Operator

Cloacina LLC manufactures Packaged Wastewater Treatment Systems for municipal and beverage industries. We are seeking a detail-oriented Metal Finishing Operator to join our production team. This role is critical in ensuring our metal components meet the highest standards of cleanliness, corrosion resistance, and surface finish through mechanical polishing and chemical passivation processes.

Mechanical Finishing Operator Job Duties:

Perform metal polishing and deburring using hand tools and power tools.

Conduct passivation treatments in accordance with industry standards (ASTM A380).

Inspect finished parts for quality, surface finish, and cleanliness.

Maintain accurate records of work performed.

Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE.

Assist in maintaining equipment and work area cleanliness.

Collaborate with quality control and production teams to meet deadlines and specifications.

Read engineer blueprints and adhering to their specifications.

Operate machinery – forklifts, scissor lift, telehandler.

Clean, organize, and sort equipment and raw steel.

Ability to work overtime as needed.

Ability to work with minimal supervision.

All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

The following abilities will be expected of the candidate.

High school diploma or equivalent; technical training is a plus.

1+ years of experience in metal finishing, polishing, or chemical processing preferred.

Familiarity with stainless steel preferred.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions.

Strong attention to detail and strong manual dexterity.

Comfortable working with chemicals and in a manufacturing environment.

Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

The wastewater industry can be hazardous due to exposure to biological and chemical hazards, as well as physical dangers like confined spaces, slips, and falls. Employees may come in contact with wastewater which contains human waste. Wastewater contains various bacteria, viruses, and parasites that can cause diseases in humans and animals. Workers can be exposed through contact with wastewater, aerosols containing pathogens, or contaminated equipment. Wastewater treatment processes also involve the use of various chemicals, some of which can be toxic or corrosive. It is imperative that employees wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follow safety protocols. While not mandatory, it is also highly recommended that employees stay current with vaccinations, including Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Tetanus, and Diphtheria.
