The Position:

The Managed Care (MC) Therapy Program is contracted with the Santa Barbara County Department of Behavioral Wellness (BWell) to provide therapeutic services to children and adults, and their families, who are Medi-Cal beneficiaries that meet medical necessity. The MC Therapist will facilitate brief therapy that is solution-focused. Services are provided in a clinic setting M-F between 8:30am-7:00pm. This position reports to and is supervised by the Youth and Family Behavioral Health Program Supervisor and receives clinical supervision from the Youth and Family Behavioral Health Clinical Supervisor. This position is located in Lompoc.

Sample of Duties and Responsibilities:

• Facilitate individual and family therapy.

• Conduct clinical assessments, compose treatment plans and progress notes, and engage in other case management activities.

• Document all clinical and service activities using Medi-Cal and BWell requirements.

• Maintain all cases according to BWell Quality Care Management standards, including the determination of medical necessity, appropriateness of service, and quality of care.

• Foster positive interagency relationships and provide referrals for any indicated outside resources.

Employment Standards:

• Must be either licensed LMFT/LCSW/LPCC or registered AMFT/ASW/APCC

• Past clinical experience working with youth and families required. At least two years preferred.

• Excellent clinical, interpersonal, analytical, computer, written, and verbal communication skills required.

• Professional attitude, teamwork, and ability to maintain confidentiality a must.

• Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.

Classification, Hours and Pay Rate:

• The position is part-time, 20 hours/week.

• Positons working 20 or more hours per week are eligible for sick leave accrual, vacation accrual, holidays, plus limited benefits: flexible spending accounts, and a 403(b) retirement plan.

• Starting base rate for unlicensed clinician is $22.00/hour. Starting base rate for licensed clinician is $28.00/hour. Bilingual differential available for both unlicensed and licensed staff.
