Position Summary:The Program Supervisor for the Lompoc Wellness Center (Helping Hands of Lompoc/ H2L) is responsible for the trauma informed supervision and implementation of a program designed to assist adults with psychiatric disabilities in acquiring and enhancing skills that will help enable them to live and work comfortably in the community. This position promotes social rehabilitation for the members and is responsible for having knowledge and skills in all aspects of the program. The Program Supervisor will uphold and promote the program philosophy in all duties performed.Responsibilities and Duties:1. Oversees the Wellness Center program, including all staff, members, interns, transitional employees and volunteers of mental health services in a social rehabilitation setting. Offering peer to peer education and support, social support, skills training, recreation activities, and assistance with independent living in English and Spanish if bilingual.2. Is responsible for curriculum development in the form of a monthly calendar of events and activities for members.3. Meets with staff weekly and reports all significant program and member issues daily to the Program Manager. Program Supervisor must attend other meetings as required and work as part of a collaborative team with peers, members, and the staff of other TMHA programs, the Department of Behavioral Wellness and other agencies.4. Responsible for overseeing program staff professionally, providing guidance and coaching under the manager's direction to their team on daily work activities or projects, and monitoring employee performance to ensure maximum productivity.5. Promote, encourage and maintain trauma-informed practices in all services and activities. 6. Practice and promote, both individually and in team meetings, the Collaborative Communication Guidelines7. Recruits, interviews, and trains part-time staff, interns and volunteers in a collaborative effort to provide a varied and quality program.8. Purchases necessary program food, supplies and materials, ensuring that budget allocations are followed.9. Prepares healthy meals and educates and encourages other members to do so as well.10. Communicates with the Department of Behavioral Wellness, Supportive Community Services, Santa Maria/Lompoc ACT, and other agency staff regarding the health and progress of clients who attend the Wellness Center. Periodic staff meetings with Department of Behavioral Wellness and other agencies are strongly encouraged. A positive relationship with the county is imperative as the two agencies work cooperatively for the benefit and recruitment of mental health clients to participate in Center activities.11. Provides guidance, support, and problem solving to members, part-time staff, volunteers and interns as needed.12. Facilitates group discussions and activities in English and or Spanish, Co-facilitates groups as needed.13. Communicates both positive and constructive feedback clearly and in a timely manner with staff, documenting when necessary. Remains approachable and open for staff to communicate problems or ask questions. Gives staff periodic performance reviews on time.14. Leads by example and empowers staff members, volunteers and all participants to grow and expand their abilities and knowledge. 15. Represents management positively and takes ownership of policies when enforcing them. When questions or issues with management arise, they are directed to management for resolution. Accepts constructive feedback from supervisor and others.16. Functions as a role model to staff and members with regard to treatment, communication, and work behavior.17. Gathers, stores and reports program intakes, referrals, statistics and adheres to procedures, HIPPA confidentiality standards and record keeping needs for all program information.18. Utilize data collection tools (based on contract outcomes) to track for member attendance, program services, community outreach, and computer lab participation. Submit monthly data report to Performance Outcomes Evaluator under manager's guidance19. Must be available to work with community members, family members, other organizations, visitors, and volunteers in an effort to inform the community of our services and to advocate for people with psychiatric disabilities.20. Assumes other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Program Manager. Job Environment:1. Moderate, physical activity and frequent driving; may include moving or lifting up to 45 lbs.2. Involves moderate risks which require safety precautions and the risk of exposure to potentially intense situations.3. Possible intense situations related to confrontational or oppositional adults. Requirements:Minimum Requirements: 1. Bachelor's Degree and minimum of six months experience in a mental health/social service setting or 3 years experience in a mental health/social service setting. 2. Consumers with experience in the mental health system preferred3. Spanish bilingual/bicultural preferred.4. Ability to handle intense situations, display good judgment and decision making skills, and remain calm and clearheaded under pressure. 5. Strong interpersonal skills, collaborative work style and strong oral/written communication skills. 6. Able to deal effectively with a variety of people and personality types regardless of age, ethnicity, race, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression or socio-economic level. 7. Well defined organizational and time management skills8. Ability to work independently and flexibly9. Must use reasonable precautions in the performance of one's duties and adhere to all applicable safety rules and practices while acting in such a manner as to assure at all times, maximum safety to one's self, fellow employees, clients, and other persons contacted through TMHA business. 10. Conditions of employment include: · Must be at least 18 years of age; possess a valid CA Driver's License, reliable transportation, proof of auto insurance, and DMV driving record that meets TMHA's current vehicle insurance requirements.
