Qualifications: Team oriented professional who wants to help the youth of our community.

- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

- Minimum B.A. or 1 year experience in a helping profession or related field.

- Proficient written and verbal communication skills.

- Strong organizational and administrative skills.

- Experience in education or staff training helpful.

- Knowledge of alcohol/drug issues for youth.

- Reliable transportation to travel between work locations.

- Ability to interact with diverse groups of people, including children, parents, and professionals.

General Duties: To provide client and program support to the Teen Court Program in North Santa Barbara County. The Teen Court Case Managers duties include, but are not limited to:

- Recruitment, training, and supervision of volunteers.

- Intake and assessment of clients.

- Case management and other direct client services.

- Community outreach.

- Office management and record keeping.

- Preparation for and facilitation of the Teen Court hearing night.

- Facilitate educational groups and classes.

Specific Duties:

I. Volunteer Staff Supervision:

1. Assist with recruitment and training of supervision adult volunteers and interns.

2. Assist with the recruitment and training of teen volunteers from the local junior and senior high schools.

II. Direct Client Services:

1. Receive client referrals from schools, law enforcement, and from other referral sources and make contact with parents and youth.

2. Provide extensive case assessment, develop a client support plan, and provide follow through and regular updates.

3. Monitor teen offenders throughout the contract period, provide appropriate referrals, and assist and encourage clients in the completion of their Teen Court contract.

4. Assist in developing referral sources in the areas of substance abuse, parenting education, and any other referral sources appropriate to youth.

5. Provide educational group and classes

III. Court Functioning:

1. Attend Teen Court and provide leadership and support to ensure a smooth process.

2. Observe volunteers in the performance of their duties and provide feedback in a positive manner.

IV. Outreach and Public Relations:

1. Represent the Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse and Teen Court through inter-agency collaboration, community education, and public speaking.

V. Record Keeping:

1. Attend staff meetings.

2. Keep appropriate, updated, and complete client files.

3. Maintain appropriate clinical and programmatic documentation.

4. Ensure the confidentiality of these files.

5. Provide Program Coordinator with data for monthly reports.
