We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Accountant to join our dynamic team at a leading asset management and investment company. This role will focus on managing and processing accounts payable transactions for our portfolio of investment funds. The AP Accountant will collaborate closely with internal teams and external vendors to ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments, contributing to the financial health and success of our company.
Key Responsibilities:
Process and manage all accounts payable transactions for the company and investment funds, including vendor invoices, expenses, and payment requests.
Ensure the timely and accurate payment of invoices and bills, following company policies and procedures.
Reconcile and verify vendor statements to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies.
Maintain and update vendor records in the accounting system.
Coordinate with internal teams, including investment, legal, and operations, to ensure payments align with investment fund transactions and requirements.
Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, providing necessary reports and reconciliations.
Prepare and analyze AP aging reports to ensure all outstanding balances are addressed promptly.
Support the preparation of financial statements by providing accurate AP data.
Collaborate with external auditors during the audit process, providing necessary AP documentation.
Assist with the preparation of tax filings, ensuring accurate and timely submission of vendor-related information.
Recommend improvements to accounts payable processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Minimum of 2-4 years of accounts payable experience, preferably within the asset management or investment industry.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, including AP functions and vendor management.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both internal teams and external vendors.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create and manage spreadsheets for reporting and analysis.
