Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Controller and Operations Manager with a background in the contracting industry. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in financial management and operational oversight, capable of navigating the unique challenges of the construction sector.
Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy:
Develop and execute the company's financial strategy in alignment with overall business goals specific to the contracting industry.
Provide strategic financial guidance to the CEO and Board of Directors.
Financial Planning and Analysis:
Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes tailored to contracting projects.
Conduct thorough financial analysis to support decision-making and optimize financial performance.
Risk Management:
Identify and mitigate financial risks associated with contracting operations to ensure the company's financial health.
Implement effective internal controls and compliance measures.
Financial Reporting:
Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with industry-specific accounting standards and regulations.
Cash Management:
Manage cash flow and liquidity to support operational needs and strategic initiatives.
Optimize working capital and investment strategies in alignment with project timelines.
Team Leadership:
Build and lead a high-performing finance team with experience in the contracting sector.
Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Stakeholder Communication:
Communicate financial results, strategies, and risks to stakeholders, including project managers and contractors.
Collaborate with investors, auditors, and other external partners.
Operations Management:
Oversee day-to-day operations of the office, ensuring smooth administrative processes.
Manage employee onboarding and offboarding, maintaining HR records and compliance with labor laws.
Coordinate with project managers to ensure resources are allocated efficiently across projects.
Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to improve efficiency and productivity.
Office Management:
Ensure effective management of office resources, including supplies and vendor relationships.
Support senior management with administrative tasks and reporting.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Company Controller, Operations Manager, or in a senior financial leadership role, preferably in the contracting or construction industry.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's/MBA preferred).
CPA or other relevant certifications.
Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills.
Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
