We are a large commercial union contractor in Northern California, currently seeking a qualified Accountant to join our team. This role is in our HQ and reports to the CFO. You will be responsible for the following:
General accounting tasks and contract administration
Some payroll and related payroll reporting functions
Provide direct support to the project teams by managing project-related accounting functions in addition to administrative tasks
Performs project related duties for assigned Project Managers such as issuing and processing change orders, entering budgets, reviewing job costing
Prepares and submits monthly billing packages for projects, ensures project compliance, and maintains project and subcontractor accounts
Handles billing and collection of accounts receivable for projects
Performs other related office duties as assigned or needed.
Qualifications include:
1+ years of hands on accounting experience is necessary
Well organized and detail-oriented.
A self-starter and great team player.
Desire to learn and accept new challenges.
General knowledge of construction accounting
Cost accounting experience in construction industry is a plus.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to effectively engage different personality types.
Proficient with Microsoft Office including Excel
Experience with Textura a plus
Experience with Procore a plus
Knowledge of prevailing wage/certified payroll review & reporting a plus
Degree in accounting or business
