Great Company! Leading laboratory products manufacturing company located in Petaluma is seeking a Senior Accountant to work with our Accounting team.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Regular inventory reconciliation and analysis.
Establish and maintain compliance with appropriate accounting policies, procedures and financial reporting.
Responsible for tax compliance including income tax, sales and use tax, payroll tax, property tax, medical device
exercise tax, other governmentally required fees, taxes and/ or reporting.
Prepare and review financial statements and reports.
Financial analysis and reporting as needed to management and owners.
Assists with Monthly Financial closing entries and reporting.
Coordinate and work with outside tax preparer and Parent company on annual income tax planning, compliance,
and reporting.
Establish customer trade credit policy evaluation policies and procedures as part of cash management
responsibilities and mitigation of bad debt risk.
Performs other duties as assigned by the President.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor of Science in Accounting or Finance or related field.
Minimum of three to five years’ experience with increasing responsibility in finance/ accounting/ management or
equivalent.
Knowledge of GAAP reporting, internal controls, and familiarity with federal and multi-state income tax
regulations, payroll, tax issues, the taxation of employee benefits.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Knowledgeable in income tax accounting and reporting.
Ability to work effectively and harmoniously with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Experience with ERP systems, accounting packages and report writer is
preferred.
Attention to detail and place importance on quality of work.
Able to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Knowledge of good manufacturing practices a plus.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of GAAP accounting theory and practice, sales tax, property tax, payroll tax and corporate tax laws.
