Wheeler Zamaroni has been providing landscape and building materials to the North Bay and surrounding area for over 35 years. We are looking for motivated and eager individuals who would like to work in a team environment. Our Yard Manager’s primarily responsibility is to lead and enable their team to deliver the best possible customer experience that promotes safety and compliance. This includes coaching and training team members, delegating, following up on daily tasks, managing performance, and ensuring adequate department coverage.
To be successful, the Yard Manager must collaborate and communicate with other department heads including President, General Manager and Human Resources to determine the most effective methods for meeting service, operations, and safety objectives. The individual in this role must continuously drive efficiencies and be able to teach others the skills needed to maintain effective yard operations. It is important that this Team Member communicate upward to keep management informed of concerns, issues, recognition, and morale. The Yard Manager must demonstrate excellent leadership and problem-solving skills, be able to manage with limited supervision, and must have excellent communication and organizational skills. Must be detail oriented and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
Qualifications.
· Experience providing direction or supervision to team.
· Experience supporting or participating in the process of training, mentoring, and developing Team Members
· Experience with employee relations such as, interviewing, coaching, disciplinary action, and termination.
· Experience working cross-functionally
· Safety minded and knowledge of OHSA requirements
· Ability to calculate percentages of products coming and going from inventory
· Experience supporting operations in a landscaping environment a plus
· Experience in a leadership role with direct report responsibility
· Completes reports as required
· Experience in key carrying role with manager-on-duty responsibilities
· Yard Manager is responsible for the complete day-to-day operation of the Yard, minimizing expenses while ensuring that the Yard is optimally stocked.
· Yard Manager should instill Wheeler Zamaroni culture and values in all employees and must conduct themselves with the utmost personal integrity and ensure that the entire Yard operates according to company policy and procedures.
· The Yard Manager is a role model, a leader, a problem solver, a calculated risk taker, and must manage their time to achieve safety, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
· Ensure that the inventory is maintained in a clean and orderly fashion, consistent with company policy and good business practices.
· Ensure that warehouse and yard personnel accurately receive and properly store merchandise.
· Always drive a safety-first environment and ensure a safe a secure working environment.
· Experience operating, wheel loader, forklift, sweeper, water truck, bulldozer, and excavator
