Position Summary:
We are looking for a hands-on and detail-oriented Assistant General Manager to ensure daily operations run smoothly. This role is designed as a growth opportunity, with a clear path to becoming General Manager—including eligibility for profit-sharing/equity incentives as you grow with Lore.
Key Responsibilities
Learn & Lead:
- Train under the Owner/General Manager to master all aspects of Lore’s daily operations, including bar service, escape room flow, guest experience, and staff management.
- Serve as a role model for team members and support their day-to-day needs across both the bar and escape room.
- Step in as acting GM when needed, and take ownership of specific projects or shifts.
Operational Excellence:
- Ensure the space is ready and welcoming each day—accept deliveries, oversee inventory, handle small onsite tasks, and maintain a clean, organized environment.
- Support and coach bar staff, escape room hosts, and servers, helping to create memorable experiences for every guest.
- Assist with scheduling, training, and enforcing SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) for the team.
- Communicate effectively with the owner, acting as their eyes and ears on the ground and surfacing any issues that impact the guest experience or business growth.
Guest Experience:
- Uphold Lore’s standards for hospitality, ensuring every guest interaction is positive and memorable.
- Handle special requests, event planning, and problem-solving as needed to ensure smooth operations.
- Help guide and inspire servers to become strong storytellers and brand ambassadors.
Growth & Development:
- Show initiative in learning all facets of the business with the intention of moving into the General Manager role.
- Participate in performance reviews, goal setting, and leadership meetings as part of your development path.
- Contribute ideas for improving operations, guest service, and team culture.
What We’re Looking For
- A true “people person” who thrives in a guest-facing environment and who believes in and wants to grow to new heights with Lore.
- Prior experience as a leading bartender, chef, or server
- High attention to detail and ability to handle multiple responsibilities at once
- Willingness to roll up your sleeves and help with any task, big or small
- Reliable and responsive—able to be onsite at Lore for several hours each day, and always reachable by phone
