QUALIFICATIONS:
Available a minimum of 2 days per week during the hours of 10am-4pm, Monday-Friday
Must love dogs and cats!
Must be able to walk a minimum of 5 miles per day, up hills and stairs, rain or shine.
Patience and a basic understanding of a dog’s body language are a must!
Previous success in a customer service position.
You must be a problem solver and able to work independently.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a backup walker, you will be assigned to cover a full-time walker’s route on a day(s) they are unavailable to work.
You will walk different routes on a daily and/or weekly basis.
The number of days worked each week and routes/neighborhoods you will be asked to cover depend on need.
Each route consists of dog walks and cat visits.
Dog walks:
You will walk dogs privately and in a group. You will be asked to walk up to 3 dogs at a time.
All walks are performed on foot. You are not required to drive to and from appointments or to transport the dogs during their walk.
We will provide you with the supplies needed to perform the job.
Cat Visits:
You will be required to provide cats with socialization and playtime, replace their water and food, scoop their litter box, and complete small requests from the client.
Provide outstanding customer service to both the dogs and their owners.
Provide clients with daily updates and photos after each walk.
While this is a highly rewarding and fun job it is also very physically and mentally demanding. Being able to work hard is a must!
JOB INFORMATION:
This is an hourly position. Compensation is $20/hr.
This is an employee position, NOT an independent contractor job.
All training is done in-house. You are not required to obtain a Commercial Dog Walker Permit.
