Established Benicia based trucking company seeking experienced Dispatcher. This position is responsible for coordinating and managing the transportation of oversized/overweight machines and materials, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, and optimizing routes for efficiency and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensuring timely and efficient delivery of oversized loads.
- Communicate with drivers, customers, and regulatory agencies to ensure smooth operations and resolve any issues.
- Plan and optimize routes, taking into account load dimensions, weight, and road conditions.
- Maintain accurate records of permits, dispatch logs, and transportation activities.
- Monitor and track shipments, providing regular updates to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and industry standards.
- Prepare and submit oversize and overweight permit applications in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Collaborate with the maintenance and finance departments to enhance efficiency and service quality.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Dispatcher in the trucking industry.
- Knowledge of oversize and overweight permit regulations and procedures.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using dispatch software and other relevant technology.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high-pressure situations.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- (Preferred) CDL license or previous driving experience in the trucking industry is a plus.
