Who we are:
Mike’s Feed and Pets is one of the oldest (and coolest) independently owned pet stores in the bay area. Mike’s is both a pet store and an urban farming store. We carry everything you could possibly need for every type of pet you could have from hamsters to reptiles to fish to goats. We take pride in our customer service excellence and our knowledgeable staff.
Sales Associate Job Duties:
Welcoming and engaging with customers as they enter the store
Assessing customers’ needs and suggesting solutions to their problems
Working with cash registers and processing payments
Giving customers advice about sales and promotions
Using upselling techniques to increase store sales
Recommending the best products to customers
Sorting, pricing, and stocking merchandise
Cleaning and restocking the store throughout the day
Keep the store clean and inviting
Sales Associate Requirements
Love of animals and learning about their care
Professional, friendly attitude
Strong level of professionalism at work
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Patience when dealing with difficult customers
Basic math skills
Able to lift 50lbs
Bilingual a plus
Animal experience is a huge plus, especially experience with reptiles, fish, birds, and/or farm animals.
Pay based on experience. Minimum starting pay is $17/hour.
