Small private K-8 school seeks administrative assistant to head of school.
To work with us, you have to enjoy being with kids, know how to put on a bandaid, and have great organizational, communication, clerical and documentation skills. You must be able to tolerate regular interruptions and shifting work flow with good humor, and be computer savvy, like to organize and be good at it, and follow up after being interrupted.
Essential Requirements:
Our ideal candidate has:
Two+ years clerical or administrative support experience.
Associate's degree or higher preferred
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to work independently on assigned tasks, and get approvals as needed
Strong project management, tracking, coordination, calendaring and follow up skills
Ability to work some early mornings, evenings and weekend days
Able to work with Google Suite on computer
Discretion in dealing with confidential information - no gossiping or sharing even among other workers
Receptionist skills
Desired Requirements:
Experience working around lower school students and parents
Calendaring skills
Managing invoices, receipts, purchases and payments
Overseeing student and teacher flow
Receptionist experience
Serving as classroom monitor for uncovered teacher absences
Coordinating school events such as back to school night, spring and winter concerts, parent coffees
Job Description:
You will report to the head of school, and you are responsible for providing administrative support to the head of school. Supporting the head of school will also include supporting faculty and students. Your support functions are broad ranging. Your duties will include, but are not limited to: greeting students, tracking attendance, gathering information and responding to inquiries, preparing and sending emails, calendaring, developing and maintaining student records, preparing and filing regulatory materials, creating and maintaining employee records, arranging out of school field trips, emergency preparedness management, facilities management including scheduling custodial staff and recycling/landfill, keeping kitchen and copier room ready for use, managing and stocking supplies, setting up and managing picture day, graduation, school celebrations, and similar events, to name a few!
Compensation - Competitive based on experience - $66,500 - $70,000 per year. Paid vacation up to 3 weeks, as aligned with the school calendar and depending on administrative needs. 70% medical and 100% dental/vision. This could be an entry level position for the right candidate, with great opportunity for growth. A highly experienced executive who is re-entering the workforce and is ready to serve in education could also be a great fit. This is an at-will position.
