Starting salary up to $48.15/hour!

NOTE: Effective January 1, 2024, the minimum degree requirement for eligibility to take the registration examination for dietitians changed from a bachelor's degree to a graduate degree. All other didactic and supervised practice eligibility requirements remain the same. As a Nutritionist for the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program, you will be essential in determining program eligibility and delivering comprehensive nutrition assessments and care plans. You will provide low and high-risk nutrition counseling, as well as breastfeeding support and education, using Participant Centered Education (PCE) principles. Your role will involve collaborating with the WIC team to deliver services to diverse participants at various clinic sites, including Santa Rosa, Petaluma, Sonoma, and Guerneville.

The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and possess many of the following:

Current registration as a Registered Dietitian or Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) with the Commission of Dietetic Registration

Knowledge of the nutritional needs of pregnant and postpartum people, infants, and children

Experience utilizing motivational interviewing and counseling skills

Familiarity with WIC program regulations and guidelines

Effective presentation and communication skills

A passion for nutrition and helping others

This position requires flexibility to work at any of our four WIC locations: Santa Rosa, Sonoma, Petaluma, or Guerneville. Appointments may be conducted in person, over the phone, or through virtual platforms. Shifts can be from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM PT.

While not required at the time of application submission, certification must be obtained within six months of employment. Temporary, extra-help employees are limited in their employment to a maximum of one calendar year. These employees must be off of work for three months before they can be re-employed on an extra help basis.
