Excellent time management, written, inventory and verbal communication skills.
Food preparation and cleanup. Prepares, cooks, and serves lunch, and snacks following planned menus and recipes; sets tables and chairs for family-style meal service; cleans and maintains kitchen equipment, appliances, dishes, and utensils; stores food and equipment properly. Creates weekly grocery lists based on planned menu; maintains inventory of food, equipment, and cleaning supplies
Classroom assistance. Sets up and assists teacher with small groups of children preparation activities; problem solving exercises, introduction of new vocabulary, and games; prepares and presents educational materials as directed by teachers; attends in-service training and staff meetings. Plan and prepare learning centers and open-ended activities on a daily basis. Maintain strict confidentiality regarding the families enrolled in First Discoveries Christian Preschool. Cultivating rapport and teamwork among staff. Attend training, conferences and courses to facilitate personal professional growth as well as Bible Classes for spiritual growth. Setting up nap mats and toy cleaning and sanitizing. School will provide hands on training.
Support the preparation of meals for the children as part of a collaborative staff effort. This includes responsibility for planning and ordering groceries as needed. While cooking duties are typically shared among team members, there may be times when one staff member takes on a more regular role based on interest, availability, or program needs.
First Discoveries Christian Preschool enrolls children 2 years to pre-kindergarten. We are committed to teaching and nurturing children in their formative years using Christian values. Through Bible teachings, the founders, along with their welcoming staff, help children develop empathy, friendships, and conflict resolution. We carefully foster a family atmosphere for all students and staff. Our goal is to be and do our best every day to inspire our students and help them develop attitudes for success.
Physical ability to: lift and carry objects weighing approximately 35 pounds and stand for approximately five hours at a time.
