Your Role:
As a Preschool Teacher at Lily of the Valley, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of our students. You will design and implement engaging activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development, creating a nurturing and stimulating environment where every child can thrive.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the overall supervision and daily class functions of a group of children (2 to 3 years age).
Assesses each child’s developmental needs on an ongoing basis.
Prepare lesson plans for the children on a daily basis.
Comfort arriving children to the school environment by greeting them, helping them remove outerwear, and selecting activities of interest to them.
Prepare games and outdoor activities that the children can engage in
Plans with a member of the Leadership Team the parent-teacher conferences and student evaluations.
Maintains an attractive, well-kept classroom that encourages children to create, explore and make decisions with confidence.
Provides verbal recognition and acceptance to children while providing clear and consistent expectations for the children’s behavior.
Accepts responsibility for maintenance and necessary housekeeping duties of the classroom, common use areas and playgrounds.
Attends all required staff meetings, workshops and/or school functions.
Assists in other capacities that Director, or designee, determines is necessary.
Monitor the children’s progress and development.
Plan, prepare, & execute daily circle time activities.
Organize and lead activities designed to promote physical, mental, and social development, such as games, arts and craft, music, storytelling, and field trips
Prepare reports on the children’s development.
Read books to the children.
Have a friendly and confident demeanor and to work patiently with students, parents, and co-workers.
Be flexible and a team player, ready to engage in all classes.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 12 ECE units
Child Development Associate Certification (Preferred)
CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain
Must meet basic requirements of local child care regulatory agency
Minimum one-year experience in a licensed early childhood program preferred
Knowledge of the social, emotional, and creative needs of young children
Solid interpersonal skills working in a team environment
A love for children and a strong desire to make a difference every day
Ability to build relationships with families and co-workers and create a dynamic environment where play and learning happens
Outstanding customer service skills, strong organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task and manage multiple situations effectively
Must be physically able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds and work indoors or outdoors. Must be able to assume postures in low levels to allow physical and visual contact with children, see and hear well enough to keep children safe, and engage in physical activity with children
Ability to speak, read, and write English
Must pass DOJ, FBI and CACI background check, current Mandated Reporter Training.
