A beautiful, small, Montessori school community in Napa, seeking a warm, calm, and creative teacher’s assistant/Assistant Teacher to support the lead teacher in a classroom of 3 to 6 years old students. The teacher’s assistant/Assistant Teacher will provide support at the direction of the lead teacher. This position may be more suitable for individuals beginning a career in preschool education. Prior experience working with preschool aged students preferred. Health screening, TB test, flu shot, Live Scan fingerprinting prior to start date. The hours are 8:15-3:15 p.m. Monday through Friday. Center will pay for any CPR/First Aid, and Early Childhood Training, if needed.
Some experience working with children ages 3 to 6 years
Child development units or current enrollment in course work preferred
Diligent, flexible, reliable
Patience, warmth and sense of humor
Desire and ability to create weekly arts and crafts projects
Ability to work independently and as a team
Assist lead teacher in care and daily maintenance of the classroom
Provide one-on-one support to students as directed by lead teacher
Provide recess, lunch, toileting and any other duties as directed.
Ability to sing, do movement, read stories, as directed
Assist in maintaining health and safety of students at all times
Nurture each student’s academic, social, emotional, and creative development
Maintain a classroom climate of trust and mutual respect
