Who we are:
Semillas Children’s School is a mixed-age, play based preschool caring for children ages 2-5 years of age. We use emergent curriculum based on the children’s and teacher’s interests. Our rich indoor and outdoor environments allow children the freedom to make choices and provide opportunities to learn problem solving skills and to use their own ideas to create meaningful play. In our safe and supportive space children express themselves freely, build confidence and positive self-identity. A strong emphasis in social and emotional development builds lasting and loving relationships with peers and teachers where children learn to value the differences among us. We initiate activities to foster a sense of empathy and respect for ourselves, our community and nature. Above all, at Semillas we have a lot of fun learning, exploring and playing together!
Teaching Position:
We are in search of a wonderful new part-time teaching assistant! We can offer 10-15 hours per week, plus subbing and possibility for more hours in the summer.
Pay: 18-21 per hour.
-Enjoys working with children
-Maintains a safe environment for the kids to play
-Brings creative play approach
-opportunity to facilitate art offerings
-Helps with daily room clean up, diaper changing and snack preparation
-Enjoys messy play (i.e. water, sand, mud, paint, etc. )
-Assists children at nap time
-Able to help children with conflict resolution, and positive guidance
-Arrives ready to work and puts phone away during work time.
-Experience working with children ages 18 months-4.5 years is preferred.
-CPR and First Aid ( or willingness to obtain)
-Bilingual- spanish/english also prefered
