ECE Substitute
The ECE Substitute Teacher reports to the Early Childhood Education Site Directors and works with the JCC Preschool teachers and the children enrolled in the Early Childhood programs.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities to be shared with co-teachers will include, but will not be limited to:
- Providing physical and emotional care for children, including diapering and/or changing, meals, naptime, and meeting needs as appropriate;
- Maintaining an appropriate learning environment, both indoors and outdoors;
- Respectful and compassionate Interactions with the children;
- Providing supervision of children, both indoors and outdoors;
- A willingness to assist teachers with children and other classroom housekeeping duties;
- Understanding the philosophy of the school and approach to curriculum;
- Maintaining professional standards and conduct at all times;
- Respecting confidentiality of school-related information; and,
- Performing other duties, as requested by supervisor.
Qualifications:
- We prefer hiring substitutes who are professionally prepared as teachers of young children, with a minimum of 12 units in the field of early childhood education and development, however, other caring individuals with experience with young children will be considered.
- Substitutes must be sensitive in communicating with others and be able to relate professionally with children and adults.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to meet the employment requirements of the licensing agency including clear background check and Live Scan fingerprinting.
Salary & Benefits:
- Pay: $22.00 - 25.00 per hour depending on experience and educational training.
- This position does not include health or dental benefits but does include use of the JCC's state of the art Health and Fitness facilities.
